Tłı̨chǫ Engineering and Environmental Services Ltd. (TEES) is a COR certified and is 100% Indigenous Owned by the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation (TIC). We are currently looking for a dedicated and talented professional to join the team as Superintendent. 

Reporting to the TEES Senior Manager, the Superintendent oversees the execution of projects. The role supervises project crews, ensures that project schedules are being adhered to, ensures that safety is of top priority, and delegates project work to the team accordingly.  Regular travel will be required both throughout the Tłı̨chǫ communities of Behchokǫ̀, Whatì, Gamètì, and Wekweetì and to other project locations as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coordinate and schedule the project activities;
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager, other Project Managers, and contractors to ensure project budgets and schedules are tracked and met and that project controls are in place;
  • Ensure project plans are carried out efficiently and professionally; 
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and ensure all safety procedures and policies are followed under a COR certified company;
  • Plan, organize, and directproject activities;
  • Organize and mobilize resources and establish priorities;
  • Participate in the development of establishing and managing the scope, schedule, budget, and implementation plan of the projects;
  • Implement project activities in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and legislation;
  • Ensure that the proper operational controls, administrative, and reporting procedures and systems are in place to effectively ensure financial performance and client satisfaction;
  • Implement project quality programs and interface with internal and external clients;
  • Initiate and implement corrective action if required;
  • Provide timely and accurate project information and status updates to  management ;
  • Review project staffing requirements and help coordinate staffing and training; 
  • Ensure that health, safety, environmental, and security management issues are properly addressed;
  • Manage overall demobilization of project including equipment sell-off and overall site clean-up;
  • Respond to tenders and RFP’s;
  • Ensure compliance to building codes, project drawings, projects specifications, contracts;
  • Establish positive relationships with clients;
  • Other duties as required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Civil experience ( roadwork, culverts, back-fill, lot development)
  • Winter road construction experience
  • Remediation project experience
  • Operational planning experience
  • Proficient in computer programs, including Microsoft Office suite of applications (to include Microsoft Projects) and relevant databases and accounting software
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
