Garry Tkachuk

Director, Safety & Security

Photo of Garry Tkachuk By Samantha StuartGarry Tkachuk has been a resident of the Northwest Territories for 52 years and has been with the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation since 2015. Garry oversees our Tłı̨chǫ Safety & Security company and is responsible for managing the Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental operations. Prior to his role at TIC, he had accumulated 31 years of management experience in safety and security professions in the North and has completed many related courses; gaining a vast amount of knowledge in an ever-changing industry.  Garry’s key goal is to create a safe and secure workplace for all employees so that they can live life to the fullest, provide for their families and participate in the well-being of the community they live in.  

 

Bernard Dube

Director of Finance, CPA, MBA

Photo of Benard Dube by Sarah HuntBernard is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and a holder of Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialty in Finance and Sustainability and currently pursuing PhD studies with Walden University, USA.

With a career spanning nearly two decades across three different jurisdictions, his career has been one of growth and promotion. Started off in Zimbabwe as an Accountant after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Honors degree. He was groomed at Nestle, the Swiss manufacturing multinational and thereafter worked for other national brands where he subsequently got promoted to Divisional Accountant responsible for the finances of six agro-industrial divisions.

He then crossed the border into neighboring South Africa, worked for various billion-dollar international organizations including Cashbuild (South Africa), BASF(Germany), Karl Storz Endoscopy (Germany) and Stryker (USA), garnering a wealth of experience in retail, chemicals, medical and health care industries. He got promoted to Finance Controller and won the Annual Finance Excellence Award at Karl Storz Endoscopy.

In April 2017, he permanently relocated to Saskatoon, SK, Canada as a nominee program skilled worker and quickly got a job at the retail giant Federated Co-operatives (Co-op) Ltd. as a Corporate Accounting Supervisor, worked in construction and real estate before heading up north, joining the Government of Northwest Territories as Financial Operations Coordinator and thereafter the Workers’ Safety and Compensation Commission as Manager, Financial Reporting and then Corporate Comptroller.

In August 2023, Bernard joined Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation and group of companies, and his message is simple: ‘’Finance is the lifeblood of any business because at the end of the day, anything that happens in an organization has a financial impact. It is therefore critical that we watch over that dollar by having the proper controls in place and keep the company financially sound.’’

 

Raymon Mansour

Director, Property Management & Real Estate (TPM)

Photo of Raymon Mansour by Samantha StuartRaymon presently leads the Real Estate and Property Management business unit of the Tłįcho˛ Investment Corporation (TIC). He moved to Behchokò˛ from Toronto in June of 2020. With over nine years experience in Toronto in the residential/commercial real estate industry, Raymon decided to join TIC to progress our real estate and property management business. He has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree with a minor in Economics from McMaster University.

 

 

Samantha Stuart

Director of Tourism

Samantha Stuart enthusiastically joined the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation group through Tłı̨chǫ Adventures Ltd. as Director of Tourism in May of 2023.  Samantha brings over 18 years of progressive experience, including a background in marketing, sales and project management. She has worked for the Northwest Territories Tourism Association, Canadian North, the Government of the Northwest Territories, and was an entrepreneur for several years. She is currently a member of the NWT Tourism Association Board of Directors.

As Director of Tourism, Samantha is responsible for leading the planning, development, and implementation of tourism strategies designed to promote Tłı̨chǫ Adventures Ltd. and its group of companies. She oversees the management of existing and new tourism operations; ensuring that all tourism offerings operate in a professional, safety-conscious, environmentally friendly and efficient manner.

Rob Selby 

Director, Technical Services (TCB)

Photo of Rob SelbyRob’s role as Senior Project Manager has recently expanded to Director, Technical Services for TCB. Rob will continue to oversee, plan, direct, coordinate and budget construction project activities; additionally, he will now also provide technical and contractual support for engineering and construction projects to other TIC companies. Rob started with the organization in March of 2020 as a Project Coordinator for TCB.
His dedication, loyalty, and drive to grow and succeed has opened opportunities to further leverage and apply his skills and education. Rob has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and has recently successfully completed his Project Management Professional (PMP)® designation.

Chris Babkirk

Senior Manager

Mr. Babkirk was raised in Northern BC and went to school in Fort St John. After graduating he worked on drilling rigs throughout Canada and the US. He then worked in the Oil & Gas Service Industry, providing coring, drilling and drill bit rentals in Canada, Cuba, US and Middle East. When the Energy Industry slowed in 2015, Mr. Babkirk moved to Yellowknife to work for Tłı̨chǫ Landtran. TIC purchased all the shares in 2016 and he stayed on with Tłı̨chǫ. Chris is the current Senior Manager for Tłı̨chǫ Engineering & Environmental Services Ltd. Throughout his time with the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation and Group of Companies, he has had the opportunity to be involved in many projects including working at the mines, completing remediation and lot development, the Tłı̨chǫ All Season Road (Tłı̨chǫ Highway) project, sewer/ water infrastructure and building the winter roads to the Tłı̨chǫ communities.

Darren Robertson

Senior Manager (TEL)

Photo of Darren Robertson by Samantha StuartDarren Robertson joined Tłįcho Equipment Ltd. (TEL) in January 2022, with over 25 years of experience in the NWT heavy equipment Industry. Darren is committed to improving the supply and reliability of TEL equipment fleet and assets to meet existing and expanding future TIC business needs.  Darren has built solid relationships in the industry that will support TEL’s stability and growth. Darren is excited about the opportunities to expand Tłįcho  employment and build a foundation with employment, training, parts, service, and rentals of our mobile assets.

 

Reid (Tyler) Delouw

Senior Project Manager (TEES)

Photo of Reid (Tyler) DelouwReid has recently moved into the role of Senior Project Manager for TEES. Reid started with the TIC group in June of 2022 as Parts & Service Manager for Tłįchǫ Equipment Ltd. Wanting to expand his experience into Project Management, he moved to TEES a year later, where he took on increasingly complex projects, such as the Tłįchǫ Winter Road. Reid holds Four Journeyperson Certificates, two of which are Red Seal Endorsed, has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Strategic Management & Organization, and has recently successfully completed his Project Management Professional (PMP)® designation.
