We are currently seeking a Class 4 Power Engineer to join our team at the Diavik Diamond Mine, one of Canada’s most iconic and remote work environments.

About the Role
As a Class 4 Power Engineer, you will play a key role in keeping critical systems running safely and efficiently. Working closely with the Electrical Department and reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for operating, maintaining, and monitoring boilers and associated plant systems in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in their work, values safety above all else, and thrives in a remote, team-oriented setting.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely operate, monitor, start up, and shut down boilers and auxiliary systems (HVAC, refrigeration, etc.)
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment
- Troubleshoot issues and carry out repairs, including replacing valves, gauges, and filters using hand and power tools
- Conduct daily boiler water testing, analyze results, and adjust chemical treatments to maintain system integrity
- Continuously monitor gauges, meters, and control systems to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain accurate operational logs and service records
- Support lockout/tagout procedures and prepare equipment for inspections
- Respond to system alarms or operational issues quickly and effectively
- Uphold strict safety standards and regulatory compliance at all times
What You Bring
- Valid Class 4 Power Engineer Certificate of Competency (or equivalent)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Experience performing maintenance in an industrial or remote setting (mining experience is an asset)
- Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team in a respectful and collaborative manner
- Solid understanding of boiler operations, water treatment, and safety procedures
- Comfortable working in Arctic conditions and physically demanding environments
- Commitment to safe work practices—no compromises
Nice to Have
- Experience working in remote or fly-in/fly-out operations
- Familiarity with computerized building or plant control systems
- Ability to speak the Tłı̨chǫ language is an asset
