Camp Attendant (TAL - North Arm Territorial Park)
North Arm Territorial Park – Tlicho Adventures Ltd.
Tłı̨chǫ Adventures Ltd. (TAL), the tourism division of the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation, is seeking 2-3 Campground Attendants to support their Operations and Maintenance contract with the Government of the Northwest Territories at North Arm Territorial Park for the 2026 operational season (May 15th – September 15th).
This is a hands-on, in-residence position suited for someone who enjoys working outdoors, engaging with people, and taking pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming campground environment. Staff live on-site and work on a rotational schedule with 24/7 presence.
About the Role
The Campground Attendant is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and guest experience of a 15-site powered campground and its facilities. This role is essential in creating a positive, safe, and memorable experience for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Operations
- Welcome and check in guests; manage bookings, payments, and site assignments
- Provide friendly, responsive customer service and address guest questions or concerns
- Support a safe, respectful, and enjoyable campground atmosphere
- Prepare a shift change/weekly report and reconcile financial paperwork
Campground Maintenance
- Clean and maintain washrooms, common areas, and grounds daily
- Ensure campsites are tidy, safe, and ready for incoming guests
- Monitor facilities and report any maintenance issues
Firewood & Site Support
- Chop, stock, and sell firewood to guests
- Maintain organized wood storage areas and track inventory
Programming & Guest Experience
- Organize and support guest activities such as BBQs, workshops, games, and cultural events with facilitators
- Work with the Director of Tourism to bring new ideas to enhance visitor experience
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures set by Tlicho Adventures Ltd. and the Government of the Northwest Territories
- Ensure campground rules, hazards, weather, fire risks, and regulations are communicated
- Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic computer skills (POS systems, email, bookings) are an asset
Requirements
- Must reside on-site in staff accommodations during scheduled rotation
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification plus AED Level C
- WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Criminal Record Check required
- No driver’s license required, but candidate must arrange their own transportation to and from site
