Position Overview
Tłı̨chǫ Firefighting Services (TFS), a 100% Indigenous-owned company of Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation, is seeking dedicated individuals to join our wildfire response crews as Type 1 Firefighters.
Type 1 Firefighters play an important role in protecting Tłı̨chǫ communities, lands, and natural resources by responding to and suppressing wildfires. This position requires individuals who are physically fit, able to work in challenging outdoor environments, and committed to teamwork and safety.
Key Responsibilities

Combat, control, and extinguish wildfires

Assist in establishing fire guards and containment lines

Operate and maintain firefighting tools and suppression equipment

Follow direction from Crew Leads and supervisors during fire operations

Maintain high safety standards and follow wildfire response procedures

Wear and properly maintain personal protective equipment (PPE)

Work in remote areas and challenging terrain when required
Qualifications

Must successfully pass the Wildland Firefighter fitness test

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs across rough terrain

Ability to work long hours in physically demanding outdoor conditions

Basic knowledge of fire suppression equipment is an asset

Strong teamwork and communication skills

Confirmed criminal record check required

Travel outside of your based community and/or outside of the territories may be required
