Tłı̨chǫ Engineering & Environmental Services (TEES) is 100% owned by the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation (TIC). We are currently looking to fill the following full time permanent position located at the Tłı̨chǫ Highway:
Road Maintenance Field Technician
Reporting to the TEES Superintendent, the Road Maintenance Field Technician will be responsible for day-to-day road maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Equipment operation (grader, snow plow truck) performing road maintenance and repair.
- General labour work.
- Wildlife recovery.
- Assistance with traffic control when required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 5 years experience operating graders/snow plow trucks; preferably in the field of road construction/maintenance.
- Willingness and ability to perform general labour work when requested/required.
- General knowledge of equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of applicable road maintenance/management legislation.
- Ability to apply and enforce safety protocols, procedures and practices.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience operating heavy equipment to include Grader, Snow Cat, Plow Truck.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to take direction.
- Demonstrated flexibility.
- Comfort and experience working in extreme weather climates (temperatures at times hitting below -40 C).
- Ability to work in a culturally-sensitive work environment.
- Class 1 driver's license required.
